{"id":288,"date":"2010-04-22T15:07:02","date_gmt":"2010-04-22T23:07:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lightmanship.com\/?p=288"},"modified":"2014-03-07T19:44:51","modified_gmt":"2014-03-07T19:44:51","slug":"is-photography-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.michaelgracemartin.com\/main\/is-photography-over\/","title":{"rendered":"Is Photography Over?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>San Francisco&#8217;s Museum of Modern Art is hosting a symposium in which 13 invited participants discuss the question: &#8220;Is Photography Over?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Rather than fear such questions (which you might if you&#8217;re a photographer or interested in being a photographer), I think it&#8217;s good to embrace and explore them&#8211;i.e., I think it&#8217;s a healthy exercise. You can see the participants&#8217; initial written responses to the question <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sfmoma.org\/pages\/research_projects_photography_over\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>A number of the commentators state that it depends on what is meant by &#8220;photography&#8221; and what is meant by &#8220;over&#8221;. Let me try&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Photography: &#8220;Using a camera to make art and\/or to make money&#8221;<br \/>\nOver: &#8220;Photos no longer considered an art form or salable product<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Is Photography Over?
